Kids Bible Adventure

Kids Bible Adventure (KBA) is what we call our Christian Education Sunday morning option for our youth in grades pre-K - 6th grade.

We are taking a different approach to teaching this year. To accommodate to the different learning styles of our youth we will have two options for the 1st-6th graders: they can choose to be in a quieter classroom where they will read/listen to the story and talk about what they are learning and how to apply it to their lives, and work on small individual crafts, or they can be involved in a more hands on approach with games, group crafts, and acting out the story. The PreK-Kindergarteners will be in their individual classroom learning the basics of the Bible stories through story books and crafts.

There will be different teachers and volunteers with special skills that will be involved with the KBA lessons. Each story will last between 2-4 weeks depending on how long it takes to teach each story. Snacks will be provided for all classes each week. We do ask families to complete a registration form for their children that has a section to list allergies. All classes will learn a song every other month to sing in church during our GiG praise service.

KBA ends around 10:30 am. Children are then invited to come to our GiG service to join their family or they can go with their guardians if they will not be attending GiG.

Throughout the year we have extra events for our Kids Bible Adventure students. We have a big kick-off event called "rally day." On this day we have things like bounce house, games, crafts and more to get the kids excited about the year! The week after rally day we invite our students to bring their backpacks with them and during our worship services we will have a "blessing of the backpacks" for the kids for the school year. At Halloween we have a big trunk or treat event that is open to the community. We have a Christmas program every year. At Easter we have an Easter egg hunt for the kids. And we wrap up the year with a big closing day that is similar to rally day.

Our Sunday school superintendent is Sophie Ressler. You can learn more about her on our staff page: stlukesbedford.com/staff
