Our Mission

Our mission is “Gather, Grow, Go." We believe that God can be experienced through a variety of worship settings. We have three services each week, two traditional and one praise, and Holy Communion is offered at all services and all who are baptized are welcome to commune. If you prefer, you are invited to come forward for a blessing. We believe Christ is fully present in, with, and under the elements. All three services are streamed to Facebook and our website.

St. Luke's also offers a variety of ways for people to spend time together and build relationships, including coffee hour, youth gatherings for different age groups, and small groups. Annually we bring in the Toledo Symphony for a community concert in December.

We offer opportunities to grow through various educational opportunities including Bible studies, Kids Bible Adventure, Essential Practices, and Vacation Bible School. Bible study opportunities are available in multiple locations on a variety of topics. We host a daytime study at Luther Haus, which is also available online, for anyone who is interested. On the first Tuesday of each month there is a study at Pavlov's Brewery on a one-time topic.

St. Luke's is also committed to going into the world to share the love of Christ in various ways! We support our pastors local benevolence fund to help those in the area who are in need. Among our mission endeavors are programs providing food to those in need, world disaster relief, education on social issues, and outreach support through the ELCA helping people in need worldwide. We are always looking for ways to connect with our community and make a difference in the lives of people. Often we partner with ministries such as "Let's Build Beds," Samaritas Foster Care, providing quilts to those in need, and more! We also partner with many other churches in supporting Lutheran Homes Society, Lutheran Social Services of Northwest Ohio, and the Luther Home of Mercy.

Our Values

Our Vision Statement:

In response to God's abundant love, St. Luke's Gathers, Grows, and Goes.

This Vision Statement shapes the direction of our ministry as we gather in Christ’s name for worship and fellowship; as we grow in our knowledge and faithfulness to God; and we go out to others in Christ’s name to share the grace we have received.

Our Core Values:

  • Faith in the promises of God manifested in the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ;
  • Love for God, neighbor and self;
  • Worship and our life together is meant for everyone! Age, nurodiversity and diverse physical abilities are welcomed AND celebrated. No one should be excluded from worship and fellowship!
  • Spirituality in daily life and a belief that each day is a gift to be treasured and that all creation is sacred;
  • Mission to the world in Jesus’ name, sharing the Good News in word and deed.

Our Foundational Beliefs

  • The Cross as the means by which the salvation of God became known for all the world;
  • Grace which is the undeserved mercy and love of our Creator;
  • The Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
  • The Priesthood of All Believers that all baptized Christians are called to serve Christ in the world;
  • Hope in the promise of resurrection and the blessing of God’s salvation given us daily;

"St. Lukes is a home, a spiritual and physical home with family where our minds, hearts and spirits are fed. Our church family has many personalities and talents. The many ministries allow our family to express and grow their faith in God and enrich their lives by using their talents in service to others. Walking into the building feels like coming home." - Fred & Sally Georgeson
